Don't Let The World Get You Down (32FB7576UANW)

Many things are going on in the world today. And it's easy to get focused on that, if think about it. Such as a neighbor loosing their home, or a co-worker getting laid off, etc.  It 's easy to slip into a 'fearful mode', of thinking "what's going to happen to us?" or "Oh no! I'm gonna be next". Some people slip into an 'angry mode', of thinking "That's not fair!" or "He/she/they don't deserve that!, they worked hard" etc, and too much of those kind of thoughts, can lead the way into depression...
However, you can't let this turn into a "domino affect".  There is always someone, some where in your life that depends on you, who leans on you for support or looks up to you.  If you get your mind's eye focused  on those kinds of thoughts it can start taking you down a different path that you don't want to be on.  Simply because you've taken you eye off of whatever you were focusing on that gives you strength & hope. And the longer to listen to the negative things out there, that  people choose to talk about, or you go looking for more information about the neighbors situation such as trying to find out "why" a person lost their job or home, or whatever is going on, the more you "tune-in" (so-to-speak) to these types of things, the weighed down it can may you feel.  Listening to the news every day, for example, can pull you down fast.

News goes on everyday and nothing will change this, if you don't listen to it every day. I'll turn on the"local"  news only occasionally if I'm feeling strong and know I won't let myself be changed or pulled down so I don't get myself locked into focusing on  sad or depressing things in this world.   I stay away from world news programs because you can get so locked into it, day after day, that you actually loose site of your "own" life, and forget the finer things in your life that are important to you.

Life is short enough as it is, and I plan on spending it enjoying every part of it I can find, because then I'm happy and have more peace at the end of the day, and I can go to sleep without dwelling on "what might happen tomorrow".  Tomorrow will have enough cares of it's own, I don't need to add them to today, lol   And, if it turns out there 'is' something that happens I need to know about, it will be announced everywhere, lol.

A good habit to get into is, as soon as you hear someone saying, "did you hear what happened to  ____" or they start telling you fine details about their problems, the moment it starts you need to turn away from it and do whatever you have to to do to stay focused on what "you" were doing, what you plan on doing when you get home, and your own life and keep on doing it. If you stop to weigh it all out in your mind, just be sure not to spend buy a few minutes on it, and move on, lest you get stuck on an idea.  the longer  you focus on something trying to figure or reason it out, the more easily it can consume you.

As soon as you hear the conversation turning a negative direction or you feel yourself getting pulled down to where they are, just say "oh,that's too bad, or I'm sorry to hear about that, but I need to get back to work", or "my boss/husband/wife/friend is expecting me, I gotta go".  Make something up if you have to, but don't keep standing there and become a sponge, soaking in all that negative junk, it will only way you down and you will be sorry for it later.  The more you listen, the more negatives others will feed you.

People can soak in so much negatives during the day that it can even start affecting their entire life.  They take their focus off their own joys and goals, and become centered on other these things to the point it can began to change who they are inside, which affects everything else outside of the person, i.e., relationships, friendships change, their outlook on life, everything around them changes right along with the changes going on inside a person.  And this can eventually affect their own health or even the health of those who know them.

You become what you dwell on the most, and you become like whomever or whatever it is that you follow in this life. Good, bad, positive or negative, happiness, or misery. This life is yours and it belongs to you, and everytime to you take in someone else's problem to swallow, or get all stressed out by what you see or hear going on in the world around you, you loose a part of your self.

Each person has their own cross to bear,  That doesn't mean you don't help others out when you can, If you can do it without it changing your own life in the wrong direction, and you have the means to do it, then yes, ofcourse you should do it.  Absolutely! And that good will return back to you one day.

But I'm not talking about those who are already financially & emotionally secure and able to bail someone out of their troubles and rescue them.  I'm talking about those who simply cannot afford to let what's going on in the world around them distract them from following the important things in their own lives that they need to be doing.  Infact sometimes, the best help you can some people in certain situations is to NOT get involved in order to stay focused on your own areas that need tending to and bettering your own life, so that just maybe one day, you just might be able to help someone else out, if that is your passion.  Seeing your strength might just be the very thing that other person needs to hold onto, to get through whatever they might be going through. Regardless,  what it may be, just don't let it rule in your life.

Stay focused on those things that you know will give you strength and make you stronger, and turn away from those things that threaten to rob you of your strength.  Keep working on building those strengths.  Set a goal to conquer and achieve. Just like a muscle gets stronger when you use it, doing this will uphold you, some day when you need it the most.

The simplest things in life, can turn out to be the become the most powerful tools you will have have, to finally have the life you always wanted.  Just start following after things you enjoy/love to steer it away from the downward hill side. Find one new thing you can do each day.  It start with something as simply as taking a different route to work, listening to that new music you bought but haven't had a chance to listen to, wear that shirt or blouse you've been saving for a "special" occasion, finish that book you were excited about but just never finished, test-drive that car you've been eye-balling for months, etc.  Whatever it is, just do it! And before long, you'll begin to discover a newness of strength you haven't felt for a long time.
